When the advent of digital media caused a dramatic behavioral shift to online, free news, America’s #1 Celebrity magazine title approached EKSS to help them develop a marketing program to boost retail sales. 

Over the next 15 months, EKSS:

  • Conducted a deep review of existing research to uncover consumer insights into readership and love of the magazine 
  • Generated and quantitatively assessed eight brand positioning platforms, and defined key messaging around the winning platform  
  • Led an agency pitch and selection process
  • Oversaw the creative process and copy testing 
  • Developed an integrated marketing plan for front-end retail 
  • Designed an in-market test to validate payout

The result?  The five-market test exceeded plan and was expanded to a $20 million national program. The ad campaign won an Effie Award and ran for multiple years.
