Fruitbelt
Defining a values-based expansion
How do you expand while staying true to your roots?
For Fruitbelt, a sparkling tonic created by two ambitious entrepreneurs in Michigan, it was a challenging dilemma. With three flavors, creative packaging and exceptionally high-quality, heritage fruit, honey and bitters ingredients, Fruitbelt had grown quickly through partnerships with family orchards and local, smaller-scale Michigan retailers.
As its popularity grew, the Brand secured distribution in Whole Foods and attracted interest from other national retailers’ Midwest locations. Yet along with the possibilities for expansion came multiple challenges associated with scaling up.
EKSS helped the founding partners define its cost structure, create dashboards to manage the company’s increasing complexity, and set a pricing and expansion course for growth that fit their mission and values.
